"The Carlyle House" by Paul McGehee. Alexandria, Virginia's historic Carlyle House was completed in 1753 and was the home of the British merchant John Carlyle and his wife, Sarah Fairfax. The house also became the headquarters of the British General Braddock during the French and Indian War. The Carlyle House is now fully restored to its original beauty and stands for all to visit in historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
